Like Bob Seger meeting Jonny Lang in a juke joint to talk about Eric Clapton. A father and son blues rock band mixing together the old and the new with a bang.
With three members over the age of 45 and 5 members under the age of 35, Buck69 is influenced by more than three generations of music. They are influenced by who, what, where, when and how their everyday lives start and end! Music is Buck69's way to express their inner feelings. To cement in history the people, places and things that affect the bands lives. Be it happy or sad, life or death. They write about what carry's them down life's highway. Always in search of that one song! Because: "Great singers, writers and musicians will come and go, but a great song lives forever".
In 2002 after a short sabbatical to concentrate on wife, kids and career, Tom Clawson formerly of "T.C. Rogers & The Blue's Hamilton Band" 1970's Warren, OH. (Singer-Songwriter-Guitar) along with his oldest son Alex Clawson from the band "BHB" Toledo, OH (Singer-Songwriter-Guitar) decided to start playing out as an acoustic duo. Playing originals and covers in and around the local Toledo, Ohio area. In June of 2004, persuaded by his son, the decision was made to go with a full band. The band offers a diverse ageless genre of "Electric Blues and Roots Rock"
One of 10 bands nominated by the Roots Music Association for 2008 Entertainer of the year.
Review:
Jordan Warford here, Editorial Manager for Guitar Tips.
You've probably noticed by now that this editor has a thing for blues... Not just any blues but soulful blues. That's why I flipped out when Tommy sent me an email responding to my cry for new bands to be featured in our newsletters. Not only is Buck69 talented, well put together and ready for the big stage but they also have a tone that keeps you coming back for more. The use of lead and rhythm guitar is done to a classic drumbeat and vocals that rock the house. This band is there for the music and it's that transparency that makes them uniquely refreshing. If you like to dance, sing and shout, I have a feeling that Buck69 is for you. As I danced around my office when I was checking this band out, I could hardly imagine how much fun it would be to see them live. I highly recommend this band to anyone who enjoys rock or blues. Very impressive licks mixed in with a great drumbeat that makes a groove you can't help but listen to. I have very high expectations for this group and have no doubts that they will continue to improve as they walk up the ladder to a major record deal and national attention. Best of luck from everyone here at Guitar Tips!

Excellent Guitar Rock CD
author: William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
"When She Whispers Your Name" by Buck 69 is blues rock guitar at it's best. This father and son duo bring their chops to the table with tons of energy and a world of talent. The band as a whole is tight and talented, backing the boys nicely. The production quality is great. You can certainly hear every instrument represented in each track. The vocals are very Clapton-esque, with that nice warm and a pleasantly raspy quality. Highlights are the opener "T-Town," which sets the tone nicely with a big sound, wailing guitars and a big attitude. "Misery" has a catchy chorus with nice female backing vocals. "Risk It All" mellows things out a bit with some nice work on the keys and variance in guitar sound. "Sex, Drugs, Ur Mom and Me" speaks for itself and absolutely shreds. If you like Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, you'll enjoy this one.
