Album Notes

Hailing from Austin's city limits, this native Texan has been compared to the likes of Springsteen and Lyle Lovett.
Based in Los Angeles, Buckeleven blends catchy rock and toe-tappin' country into well crafted, heartfelt songs that overflow with pop sensibility. Buckeleven blurs the lines of cynicism and hope. Penned by veteran singer/songwriter Greg Upton and backed by a rock solid group of seasoned southland musicians, Buckeleven's extensive collection of "Americana" tunes have received rave reviews from L.A. Weekly, Music Connection, Rock City News, and countless other E'zines.

Their music has received radio airplay in parts of Europe. Karen Miller, of Spyda Radio, which is an affiliate of the BBC, picked the track, "Hang the Moon," as #2 song of the year 2001.

This album evokes hope, humor, and heartache with a bluesy edge and rootsy attitude that lends itself to an often witty lyrical approach. There is a wide range of influence here, with textured sounds of pedal steel, organ, and piano over some crafty guitar work and a rock solid rhythm section. This all creates a record that is well-balanced and very listener friendly.

With 15+ years of live performances in parts of California, Colorado, Texas and Tennessee, Buckeleven have poised themselves among the elite of independent artists who hustle and share an unstoppable quest to produce contagious songs and play entertaining shows.

I saw this guy play acoustic and the songs were so great, I bought the record right after he stepped off stage. The recordings were an absolute treat! Catchy songs that in one week I have already memorized them. The production sounds great! Much better than the sound clip on this site. I read in the credits that he produced this record too. Man, somebody sign this dude! He sings, writes great tunes, and then knows how to record them. A truly outstanding job, and I don't say that too often!
