@ The Shed, Harrisonburg, Va
Obligatory, way-too-long rap sheet on Buck Gooter:
Buck Gooter is a two piece noise rock band that uses theremin, drum machine,
acoustic guitar thru effects pedals, stylophone and other gadgets to make a pretty intense, freaked out sound.
"I love the Goot"
-Henry Rollins, 1/08/08 Harmony in My Head broadcast
"Fri, Jan 18 = Buck Gooter / Jared Micah and Hats @ Tea Bazaar
Buck Gooter are a fascinating musical oddity from Harrisonburg, a
multi-generatal duo whose music is hypnotically uncool, yet filled
with an inscrutible pathos. Terry sounds like Neil Young playing
acoustic Metallica covers through heavy phaser, while Billy shreiks
and plays compellingly voilent Theramin solos over distorted drum
machine beats. I don't know much about the other act, but this show
is worth attending just for BuckGooter."
--Bridge PAI email list write-up
"What comes out sounds like some low-budget “Clockwork Orange.” It’s a car wreck of audio you can’t stop listening to."
-Hardcore Sounds zine
"...if you like utterly cool, brilliantly conceived, funny and flat-out originally entertaining music, you gotta grab this tasty spoon-sized nugget!"
