ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jamie Buckley was born in Hamilton, Ohio on June 17, 1970. Shortly thereafter, his mom moved him and his older brother out to Washington State. Jamie was raised in Pasco, Washington. A medium size city surrounded by lush farmland. He graduated from Pasco Senior High School in 1988 at which time he joined the United States Army. After three years of service, which included a combat tour in Iraq, Jamie was honorably discharged.

Jamie returned home and spent the next five years as a Deputy Sheriff and then a 9-1-1 Emergency Dispatcher. It was during this time that Jamie really learned that he could sing. He played local gigs all throughout the Columbia Basin. Sometimes he got paid, sometimes he didn't! But he knew that he loved what he was doing. And when he was invited to be the opening act for Country Recording Artist, Clay Walker in the Summer of 1996, he felt that maybe things were taking a change for the better. His performance was a smashing success. This was the show that made Jamie say, "...this is what I want to do for a living...".

It was around this time that Jamie started to think "bigger"! And while Eastern Washington has what are arguably some of the best country music fans in America, there was just no real opportunity for Jamie's music to grow any more than it had. So, Jamie and his family came up with the unusual solution of reenlisting in the United States Army. This would provide Jamie with a reliable job which would allow him to continue to provide for his family and would put him in Central Texas (now that's COUNTRY!). Since that time, Jamie has performed all over America, Korea and even in Cuba!

Jamie has independently released three albums. His first was recorded in Brentwood, Tennessee in December of 1996. Appropriately titled, "On My Way", it contained five original songs. Next came his album titled, "There You Are" which began in January of 2002. Jamie was flown to Nashville from Korea to start the project. Work on the album continued after Jamie was reassigned to Ft. Knox, Kentucky. That CD was eventually released in July of 2003. "There You Are" contains eleven original recordings. Five of which were songs that he had written himself. His third album, "Rich As Can Be" has just been released and it, along with "There You Are" are now available here at jamiebuckley.net thanks to Jamie's new distribution partner, CD BABY. This latest work also features eleven songs. Six of which were written by Jamie this time. "There You Are" and "Rich As Can Be" were recorded in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Both albums would not have been possible without the help of Wayne Palmer and Walt Whittenburg. Jamie is eternally grateful to them, not only for providing the means and support to get his voice out on these CD's, but also for the amazing songs they wrote for both albums and entrusted to Jamie and his voice.

Jamie has performed on line-ups with the likes of Country Recording Artists Darryl Worley, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Terry Clark, Mark Wills, and Rebecca Lynn Howard, just to mention a few. He continues to take his music "one day at a time". If it's God's will that Jamie make it onto the national country music scene then expect it to happen any time in the near future! All the pieces are in place for Jamie with the exception of "that one person" that can open the doors to Nashville for this budding superstar.

Jamie continues to proudly serve in the Army where he is assigned to the U.S. Army's Recruiting Command (USAREC). Now in his fourteenth year of Active Duty, he is being featured in a program called, "The U.S. Army Recruiting Entertainment Team featuring SFC Jamie Buckley" where he performs country music in support of the Army's recruiting mission. Jamie performs everywhere from high schools to large country music festivals all across America. For his smaller shows he uses a tracked/acoustic format. But for his larger shows, he is backed by musicians from Nashville. In the Fall of 2006, USAREC and Jamie teamed up and put together a compilation album containing nine of the eleven songs that Jamie wrote for his two most recent albums and it is given away at his shows. Show me another country recording artist that GIVES away a full length CD at nearly every performance! Bet you can't!!! This album was released in January of 2007.

Things are looking bright for Jamie and his music! Any of you out there that have ever seen Jamie perform live know that he's got what it takes to make it to the top! There's a major record label out there that would certainly benefit by having Jamie on their list of performers!!! All Jamie asks is that you just keep believing (and maybe an occasional prayer) and someday it WILL happen!!
