Buck Stevens- Do You Remember???

Occasionally, you hear a CD or an artist and you hear something in their music that perhaps the artist doesn’t hear themselves. Hence the story of Buck Stevens new release “Do You Remember”. While recording Buck for his first Wild Hare release in 2004, I was blown away by Buck’s voice. I knew we were getting great, raw rockabilly cuts at that time; but I also knew there was much more to Buck’s musical talents. Subsequently, Buck’s first CD has been Wild Hare’s biggest seller to date.

Immediately after the first CD release, at my suggestion, Buck spent over a year compiling songs and vocal arrangements that most suit his natural abilities. Along with several guitar and amp swaps, Buck developed a unique hillbilly inspired style and I think Buck is finally home in his natural skin.

RELEASED TODAY is a culmination of Buck’s talent into a 14 track CD entitled “Do You Remember”. It contains great hillbilly, rockabilly and hard hitting honky tonk music. On this CD, Buck takes off with a Carl Perkins inspired “That’s Right”, then into a Dave Moore penned honky tonk number “My Heart Holds a Picture of You”. Later in the CD there is Hank inspired “I Surrender” about a moaning soul trying to connect with God. Then onto a hillbilly boogie number “Laurie Loo”. There is even a Spanish influence number and great piano rocker demo as well. Session musicians on this project are the great Garnet Hearts of Baltimore, Md.

All in all, Buck proves that he is one of the best in genre and this CD is a knockout. He writes, he plays, he sings and does all them very well!!! His gritty guitar chops and vocals has brought Buck rave reviews all over the US and most recently a live appearance in Spain.
