ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Buggin Malone's musical writings and production are reflected in his life experiences, his passions, and his philosophy on life is revealed in his musical writings. While very proud of being Oneida, he never fails to forget that he is of blended tribes, Prairie Band Potawatomi, Ho-Chunk, and Stockbridge-Munsee. Buggin Malone was born as Wayne Malone, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up on the Eastside of Milwaukee, and struggled with gang activities throughout his early years. These troubles lead him to being incarcerated as a teen. That is when he realized he had the ability to write. Ten years later he released his first CD, titled "Birth of A Warrior". Which earned him three award nominations, the Native American Music Awards, and the Indian Summer Music Awards and Just Plain Folks Music Awards. Buggin' s political influences and views shaped the direction of "Birth of A Warrior", which contains, his most requested song to date, "Dedication to Leonard Peltier". In September of 2005, Buggin released "Spirit World". The title track "Spirit World" reveals the healing and acceptance of losing a loved one. He wrote that song with the purpose to heal himself. "Spirit World" earned the award of Best Rap/R&B/Hip-Hop Recording at the Native American Music Awards in June of 06, and Best Rap/Hip-Hop artist at the Indian Summer Music Awards in September 06 and won best political song of the year for his 2nd Leonard Peltier tribute song "Beat Goez On". Spirit World has also been nominated at the 2007 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Awards for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Recording, and was nominated for Best Native Hip-Hop artist at the Get 'Em Magazine Awards in florida where he was up against Nelly Furtado!
