Album Notes

Matt Cox heads up the insect-rock outfit, Bugs Multiply, with 15 years of songwriting in 10 different bands. Having grown up on late 80's punk and hardcore, the songs always have a hint of dissonance. Matt has an experienced soft spot for glaring hooks with harmonies, and no shortgage of pretty measures with strings and softer vocals.
The blend of genres comes from bands like Foo Fighters, Sonic Youth, Husker Du, and The Replacements.
All 4 Bugs Multiply members are transplanted from the northern states to this southern mountain town of Asheville. The recording of Bugs Multiply was done in Nashville, TN with Steve Mabee engineering and Jim Demain mastering. The first album is 15 tracks with oustanding recording technique and solid pre-production.

Bugs Multiply has everything you need for your American multi-genre music experience. Generous portions of memorable hooks, an honest live persona, new species of guitar chords, and a radio trouncing first CD release.

These are songs formed from punk and indie history. With lavish catch melodies and just enough altered chord phrasings, the songs come across as playlist-ready rock for the radio list bored. The music is all about indie rock roots and an obvious love for songwriting that stays in your head. The band describes their sound as “a genetically spliced together brand of all rock.” Newfound fans at their live shows have been overheard describing the songs as “Foo Fighters meets The Cars”.

Bugs Multiply are currently self-managed, recorded, and promoted.

Truly inspiring, as a high school friend of one of the band members of this CD. This CD has given me a laugh, and pushes me towards the positive every time I listen to it. If they keep striving to put out albums like this, then the band's destiny is unstoppable. My respect for a band like this, and the music they play is beyond compare. Bugs Multiply, my good men, break a leg!
