A great start to what looks like the next big thing in hip-hop
author: Truce
This is a great beginning to what may be a dynasty in rap music. Being from the New York area, I've heard a lot of Culture VI tracks creep up over the past year and a half. Most of it has been underground, which isn't always my bag. I was very surprised when I picked up this album and found it to be very fan-friendly. This is an album that is good for the casual fan as well as the heavy rap fan.
It's a pretty uptempo album that doesn't delve too deeply or take itself too seriously, except for songs like Non-Fiction and Life Is Like, which really go into personal details in the life of the artist.
Songs like Look At Me Now are great borderline songs that have fantastic lyrics but an upbeat, catchy beat behind it with a ready-for-radio hook. It's the perfect song to bridge the gap between casual and heavy fans. Been There, Done That sounds better than most of the Rap/R&B songs that are on the radio today, and is so professionally done that you wonder how these artists are not yet signed.
The last two songs I mentioned also feature something that many 'crews' lack, and that's really great R&B singers. They could probably build a whole squad around those two if they wanted.
UnCut Styles brings some of the other hip-hop talent to the forefront, showing what we should be expecting in the next couple of years - raw hip-hop.
For a final wrap-up, it's not a groundbreaking album. But it's a very solid effort that displays the songwriting abilities of the artists with just enough features from members of the CVI camp. The production is very tight, and although songs like Girlfriend are well written and well performed, it has a feeling of 'heard-that-before'. Lyrically, it's one of the best underground albums I've heard in a long time, and although the subject matter of most tracks (girls, girls, streets, Culture VI, girls, life) may not anything new and exciting, the precision in which he tells these stories is phenomenal.
A definite must-have, and a great prelude to what just might be the 'next big thing' in music.
Thanks for the album!!!! Put me on your mailing list so I can know about the new album and your preformances.

Bugzy Bogart Presents Rapmusic...
After gathering a massive following on the internet through gritty street tales and odes to hoes,Mr.Bogart sets out on his own with his debut album.
Overall,it was a pretty solid effort.Bugzy teamed up with fellow Culture VI'ers Hystwise,SixXx,Clowd9yne,and 8th Wonder to bring spice to the album.Uncut Stylez featuring Hystwise and Clowd was solid lyrically..with production playing the far background.Bugzy gives as many facets of himself as possible, shining on(in my opinion, best track of the album)Been There,Done That (feat.Chyno),a nice R&B/Rap groove.Other tracks that I liked were Watch Me Now,Girlfriend, and Look At Me Now...three radio friendly tracks.Bugzy Bogart also gives a very chilling account of losing a friend on Non-Fiction,another nice track on the album.
That was the upside..now the downside...Mixing.
On some of the songs, the mixing was done below par, which may not seem like alot..but it does have an effect on enjoyability. Some tracks I werent't to my liking, such as Ifab, due to the mixing and the beat choice. Also, many would have liked more hardcore rap,but eh..its a debut album right?...lets see the second turn at bat

author: Greg Rosen
For a guys first album, this was really good. i like all music, not just rap, and this was really entertaining. i really liked FOR THOSE WHO DIDNT KNOW, NON-FICTION, and LIFE IS LIKE. the softer sounding songs, like LOOK AT ME NOW and BEEN THERE, DONE THAT were really professionally done and sounded good too, but i just dont like radio music as much. this was a good album and worth the 10 bucks.
