Album Notes

How can a group of self-admitted dorks manage to rock faces off? The answer to such a dichotomic question may remain somewhere between Weezer and The Cars. Built By Snow's driving guitar riffs, unique three part vocals, and synthetic keyboard melodies combine to form energetic power pop songs that evoke just a hint of 80's nostalgia. The quartet began in February of 2006 and has been gathering a devoted fan base at many esteemed clubs around Austin. After winning a Battle of the Bands in early 2007, they recorded their debut EP, Noise.

Noise, which was released in September 2007, is full of witty powerpop songs about girls, teenage hope, dorks, NASA engineers, and robots. The independent film "Blind Man" featured one of the lead tracks from the EP, 'Sleeping Machines,' and the laugh-out-loud funny video for the song 'Drag Away' won 3rd place in the Project Breakout Rock Video Contest.

Watch for new rad videos and a sophomore EP already in the works. Rest assured that Built By Snow doesn't take themselves nearly as seriously as this band bio does.

REVIEWS

Excellent, Energetic, Rock CD
author: Xavier P. and RadioIndy.com
“Noise” by the energetic Built By Snow is quite a pleasing arrangement of unforgettable rock ‘noises’! Listeners cannot help but feel the energy passed on by this band. Their ecstatic musical and vocal performances are brilliantly mixed to create a very live feel. “Radio” delivers very contagious electric riffs and synthesizers, while tackling the very socially relevant issue of not fitting in. “Audiometry” switches vibes a bit, taking on a softer, more melodic mood while still delivering a powerhouse performance. The story of love entitled “Juliana” brings back raging rock passion with its over-the-top intro and swelling chorus. Bottom line is this: song after song, Built By Snow keeps listeners hooked! Rockers who enjoy The Cars and Weezer will welcome this amazing collection!
