Christina Bulatao (Buh-lotto) started singing with the radio when she was very young. Now years later her love of music has turned into a music career. Her smooth and powerful voice ha started to establish her as a musical force online and off.
In 2000, she was voted one of the Top Ten Outstanding Young South Dakotans. She also released her first CD,and started touring the upper midwest. She also was featured on Farmclub.com in their R&B listening room, and a segment on Bulatao and her producer, Chad Sharp aired on USA Networks. The same year Bulatao was featured on international TV on Now.com MP3TV. Her interview and feature was broadcast to 63 countries around the world.
In 2001 she released her holiday CD "Feels Like Christmas" which was a regional hit. She also continued to tour the upper midwest at fairs, schools and festivals. Now in 2002 she has finished her 3rd CD "Christina Bulatao." On April 24th she was
honored with the opportunity to sing the national anthem for President George W. Bush at a rally in front of 7,500 at the Sioux Falls, SD Arena.
In between live performances Bulatao was busy working on what she says is a great set of songs.
"I really like this project. The songs are a good look at where I am right now," Bulatao explains. "I feel like I am finding out who I am as an artist."
The "Christina Bulatao" CD features some hot new Urban, R&B pop that was all written and produced by Bulatao and Chad Sharp.
"Christina has a great ear and such a great voice. It really is like magic to have her take an idea and record it," Sharp says. "This CD is gonna make your speakers bounce!"
While many of the 13 songs are upbeat, there are a couple of ballads that showcase the smoothness and power of Bulatao's voice. "Running Away" and "All of These Angels" take a look at different parts of life.
"All of These Angels is about the children out there who are suffering. It is just to let them know that people care. 'Running Away' is about saying what we feel before it is too late," Bulatao said.
