Album Notes

"Normal" brings you into the world of an insane musician who takes medication and experiences what it's like to be 'normal' for the first time. The only problem is that the medicine silences his ability to make music. Eventually he must choose which life he wants. The songs on Normal follow his journey, leaving you to ponder, "What's 'normal,' anyway?"

"Normal is the new album from Bumblefoot, featuring punk-pop songs reminiscent of Foo Fighters & Green Day. Highlighted by Bumblefoot's trademark mind-blowing guitar work, & integrating quirkiness sure to please fans of Frank Zappa and Mike Patton, this may be Bumblefoot's best album yet." - BALD FREAK MUSIC / www.baldfreak.com

REVIEWS

A deft mix of concept, humour and pop.

This is a concept album that for a change, is short and sweet, running only approximately 50 mins. It is full of inventiveness and unexpected stylistic turns, and gleefully progresses through the ups and downs of its plot without any kind of pretentiousness. Yes, Ron Thal is an envelope pushing virtuoso, but here he employs his prowess as imaginative bursts that punctuate his music, rather than overwhelm it. The licks are wild enough to make guitarists scratch their heads, but colorful enough to tickle non musicians. His lesser known talent as a versatile singer is on full display as well, from his vicious rapping on "Real" to the wounded crooning on "Breaking". But what's most impressive is his ability to craft memorable hooks on songs such as "Rockstar for a Day" - a scathing Spinal Tap like satire that will leave you laughing, but also soaring with its chorus. In fact, it is Thal's very ability to balance humour and music while deftly avoiding juvenile silliness that makes "Normal" a worthwhile listen.

Excellent and catchy album. Awesome and innovative guitar shredding. For someone to compare them to Green Day and Foo Fighters is so off base. They couldnt play guitar to save their lives. This Guy blows their music away.

One of those cd's you load up and just let run from front to back. Very easy listening, something for everyone of this one.
