Bump is powerful American Rock n Roll. Endless energy, sturdy precision, an incessant work ethic, and unconditional sincerity forge the Detroit based super group. Collectively Yorg, Eric Novak, Chris Sterr, and Clint Carpenter generate a dynamic neo-synth hook-driven brand of intelligent art rock. The equation is simple: over 400 shows, felonious theft, health problems, and the steady rise up the club touring circuit; a special bond among these four high school friends has generated what many would consider, an “Incredible Consequence.”
Bump’s debut full length album, “Incredible Consequence,” is a complete record of the band’s past, present and future. Drawing from their collective roots, the album showcases the maturation process that every great band experiences. “Last Chance” illustrates the bands soulful rearing, while “Don’t Be the Sunrise” offers a glimpse into the driving electronic exploration of the band. With “Keep It Close,” the band displays the exhilarating future, as they dive deeper into a much more profound and dark sound.
Following 5 major festival/conference performances in 2005, consecutive Detroit Music Award Nominations, a hefty and relentless touring schedule, and becoming one of Detroit’s largest underground acts; Bump continues to turn heads throughout the country. Thus in 2005 the fuse was lit, “Incredible Consequence” provides the explosion to thrust Bump on the national scene.

Just received my copy a couple of weeks ago. I've been a distant fan of this band for some time after receiving a free sampler at Bonnaroo last year, but this album blows away anything I had heard before. At times very Death Cab/Postal Service influenced and at times very dark and electronically explorative. Modern day The Police? Just amazing.
