Flying could be the next electronica anthem in every club across the world.

Texas-based aviation electronics graduate, scuba instructor, airline pilot, and, of course, musician Timothy Tyran and his project Bunker Soldier, display a great and rare to find maturity in songwriting and production. Believe it or not, he has been around making music and performing live for 10 years, but has released only 2 records so far. To celebrate the decade, his third release, this three track CD single entitled Triple Threat, came out. Sporting great music, dynamism and energy, Bunker Soldier goes from an aggressive and holy sounding, heavily Middle Eastern influenced track, to what could be the next electronica anthem in every club across the world, only to wrap it up with a dancefloor-friendly electro tune. Warlocked couldn't come at a better time and sounds like an Arab/American/German mixture of Industrial/Metal/Rai influenced by Die Krupps, Front Line Assembly, Muslimgauze and Null Device. Flying features 21 year old Norwegian jazz singer Hildegunn Surdal and layers pads, heavenly voices and strong electronic textures in a way that reminds me of Conjure One/Delerium. Firewall is another instrumental track with some guitar activity, but mostly sticks around Gary Numan influenced electronic-dance territories. I am not familiar with his previous records, unfortunately, and unless you consider heterogeneousness a minus, this is truly a great release and a fantastic celebration. I am looking forward to hearing more (hopefully this CD-S will lead us to a full length album before another 3 years go by). -Marc 'the MEMORY Man' Urselli-Schaerer / www.chaindlk.org Ezine

A solid album from beginning to end. Leaves you wanting more!

Dance like you've never danced before. From the Eastern flavoured Warlocked, to the feel-good Flying, and the EBM stylings of Firewall, Bunker Soldier's third commercial release is a compact but solid piece of work. Frontman Tim Tyran's dance track beats are based greatly on what he claims he would like to hear when he goes to clubs. The real standout on the EP is Flying. With its catchy melody and upbeat lyrics, it is sure to be stuck in the heads of its listeners for hours on end. All three tracks are dance worthy to fans of groovy electronica and synthpop, making it a must have for all the club DJ's out there looking for something new to throw on their playlist. A solid album from beginning to end, it flows well, gets you moving, and leaves you wanting more! 4/5 -Jesse Davis / Comatose Rose

FLYING is radio friendly synthpop; angelic vocals & catchy hooks.
author: ReGen Magazine - San Francisco, CA.
From Niagara Falls comes Timothy Tyran, a.k.a. Bunker Soldier. Since the mid-90's, he has been weaving a web of intricate electronic and industrial soundscapes that blend the structure and complexity of classical with the urgency and driving beats of modern dance music. Triple Threat is appropriately named, as these three tracks present equal parts to a thematic whole. From the sitar-like openings of Warlocked, to the synthpop-flavored Flying, to the exquisate melodies of Firewall, this three-tracker sends the listener into a trance-like state with its intertwining elements of technology and world/ethnic music. Warlocked comes across as music for a 21st century harem; with its tribal beats and Middle Eastern/Indian melodies, along with some subtle traces of guitars, one can conjure images of belly dancers and flying carpets over the Hades landscape of Blade Runner. Flying is radio friendly synthpop feauturing the vocals of Hildegunn Gjerdrem Surdal (a popular Norwegian jazz singer). Her angelic vocals and catchy hooks on this song put all the bubblegum pop radio fodder to shame. Firewall closes things off with a wash of airy synthesizer melodies reminiscent of the first track, but more of a continuance as opposed to a reprise. There exists a strong sense of these three songs being complimentary to each other as part of a concept and not just three songs tacked together. The title as a sports term (meaning when a player is adept at all aspects of the game) supports this notion; all bases are covered, from industrial to dance to synthpop to ethnic music. While the CD clocks in at less than twelve minutes, the music here should have the listener putting it on repeat for more than a few spins. CATEGORY - Electropop

Warlocked is incredibly catchy!
author: Moving Hands Music Magazine - Sweden
Though I have no previous experience of Bunker Soldier (and there are apparently two previous releases), the name alone conjured images of a Funker Vogt/Feindflug-ish band pumping beats and shouting senseless words commonly associated with war and such. Bunker Soldier is however not remotely like that. Instead, the very first thing that reaches my ears is an industrial take on classic middle-eastern melodies and like female vocals on the track Warlocked. Though this isn't my poison of choice, it is incredibly catchy and produced instant twitches to turn up the volume a notch. Triple Threat is thought to be a showcase of all of Bunker Soldier's talents or takes on electronic music and so the perspective shifts sharply when Flying takes off. Firewall is pretty good, but lacks a proper hook. Bunker Soldier seems to have the skills required to write good songs. Fredric During -www.movinghands.net
