Album Notes

Thanks for visiting my CD Baby Page!!!!!! This is my maiden voyage as a solo artist.
Having played lead guitar in such bands as Satisfaction, Stayned Glas, and Numbers, I was fortunate enough to be co-founder of the group Doc&thePainkillers, with a mixture of deep home country/blues & classic rock. Featuring David "Doc" Holiday on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Bill Stephens on bass and vocals, & Kevin Absher on drums and vocals, the guitar chores were split between Keith Beal and myself. This was the group for me that was over the top. The Big Boys started taking notice. Unfortunately, Doc passed away a couple of years into our endeavor.

Hot Rod Otis was founded by three of the original Painkillers , supplemented by Jerry Wayne Robison (who had replaced Kevin in Doc&thePainkillers) on the drums. We went for more of a rock sound, playing everything
from the Amazing Rhythm Aces to ZZ Top, with a lot of Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers band thrown in for fun. Having developed tendonitis in my right arm, I left the band to R&R.

Upon my recovery, the three piece country/rock/blues band
RC&theMoonpies was formed with Randy Creel playing bass and sharing vocal duties with Randy Johnson on drums. I filled the guitarist and lead vocals slots and we had a ball, to say the least.

Having been forced into early retirement by arthritis/tendonitis and male pattern baldness, I turned my attention to the studio. In May 2003, my CD Castaway was finished.

I would like to thank CD Baby for the oportunity to share God's gift of music with you. Have a listen. If you like my music, BUY MY CD!!!!!! Heck, even if you don't like it, BUY MY CD ANYWAY and give it to somebody you don't like as a gift.

Compelling debut CD. Good songwriting. Too short! I wanna hear more!

Castaway is a cool album with great songs and Tom is obviously an accomplished guitarist, able to easily move from Country to Hard Rock styles. While this album is a bit short on slick production (a good thing), the emotion and heart Tom exhibits on this debut is very inspiring. "My name is Spike" is in heavy rotation, currently.
