The BurnDown All-Stars are a Philadelphia based live hip-hop collective featuring the city's finest unsigned musicians and emcees. Beginning in early 2003 with the release of BurnDown Studios seminal CD, "BurnDown Presents...Volume 1, The Outside Connect Jawn," the All-Stars have been slowly taking form. Drawing from the diverse and rich talent pool featured on BurnDown recordings, the band eventually cemented a strong core line-up. With an ever-expanding repertoire of songs from "Volume 1" and the soon to be released "Volume 2," the group's performances have matured into an undeniable mix of musicianship, showmanship and lyrical virtuosity.
The current line-up, led by BurnDown founder and head producer Dave Quicks (Princes of Babylon), includes members of Philly favorites The Roots, Fat Head, Blivit and K-Floor. Spitting over this unshakable framework are BurnDown originators and mainstays Kuf the Emcee, Rok Bottom and Carlito Attack, each showcasing a unique style and perspective. Add to the list of emcees and vocalists Syne and Arcane of the Dialects, MC Nutt of Soma, D of Tangled Thoughts, Mutlu, Mia Johnson, JMS and any number of others, and you will begin to see how versatile and dynamic a BurnDown All-Stars show can be. Depending on the gig, the group can be as few as six or as many as twelve without ever compromising the integrity of the show. This is music of the new millennium, flexible in format but ruthless in execution.

BURNDOWN PRESENTS VOLUME TWO
author: DARRYL TURNER
I LIKED THIS AS MUCH AS THE FIRST ALBUM. I'M GLAD THAT THE ALL STARS HAVE THE COURAGE AND CONVICTION TO CONTINUE IN THE TRADITION OF "TRUE RAP" AND HIP HOP. THE JAZZ UNDERTONES GIVE A UNIQUE AND REFRESHING SOUND. I HOPE THE BURNDOWN ALLSTARS DO NOT TAKE THE EASY WAY AND PRODUCE THE KIND OF MATERIAL THAT GLAMORISES VIOLENCE AND NEGATIVE GENDER STEREOTYPES BUT TRUELY PRESENTS WHAT IS TRUE FOR BETTER OR WORSE, WITH THE GOAL THAT THINGS WILL CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.
