Album Notes
BURNING BRIDGES is a music group that plays what folks often refer to as Americana. In the case of Burning Bridges this means that the group draws from the traditional American musical genres of rock, country, Tex-Mex, and Cajun musics. When you hear Burning Bridges you hear Norteña-style accordion, whining pedal steel, and the rhythm of a freight train barrelling down the track. But at the core of the band’s music are the unique story-songs of Darius, the singer-songwriter who has been called ”a master travellogue storyteller in the tradition of Woody Guthrie” (BAM Magazine) and “Hollywood’s poet laureate” (The Los Angeles Reader). Whether you choose to call it Americana, Alt-Country, Western Roots, No Depression, or Country-Rock, it’s still rock and it still comes from the “cosmic American music” tradition.

POOR MAN’S VACATION (AND OTHER TALES OF THE WILD AND THE WEARY) was released throughout Sweden in 2004. Burning Bridges performed live on Swedish TV and radio and performed at numerous festivals and clubs around Sweden.

Burning Bridges is Darius, Marcel Strub, Staffan Kåge, Rolf Perleij, and Pejje Nyman.
