the One And Only...Mimi Burns!!
author: Ashleigh AdamsI have known Mimi for quite some time, and she has always been consumed with music! I am so fortunate to know her and her husband, Steve Tyler! Together, they make the music so damn wonderful!!

Let's see...listening to "Slippin Away" by Mimi Burns brings back the same feeling I had when I first listened to R.E.M.'s "Chronic Town." It's so full of energy and catchy lyrics that takes talented songwriters Mimi Burns/Matt Fieszli to create. Mimi's voice sounds hauntingly familiar, i.e: Hope Sandoval, Patsy Cline, but to her own givings and own sound. I especially liked "Over The City", "Slip Away", and "Tattoo". The combinations of different musical styles can be heard throughout the whole record, as I have sat back and enjoyed it several times over. In a musical era where bands seem to come and go, and musical genres seem to fade in and out, it's good to know that songwriters and bands, especially Mimi Burns, have shown their own stylistic approach which has kept them (in my book)one of the best bands in the industry. I'm proud to say that I'm a fan of The Mimi Burns Band, and were I a critic, the record "Slippin Away", would definitely have my 5 *****. Damon Owens littldvd@tds.net

Mimi Burns' album "Slippin Away" is a treat. As each song ended I found myself wanting to go on another adventure with Mimi. I particularly enjoyed the songs about relationships and the difficulties encountered. Mimi has a vibrant voice that reflects what's going on in the lyric. I recommend with thumbs way up.

Mimi Burns combines strength and power to make her one of the strongest vocalist around. Mimi's band pulls from the blues to celtic folk to create a sound that just simply rocks. If you haven't had the oppurtunity to see her live then you need to! Simple one the most heartfelt albums I have heard in a long time!

I could never get tired of this album. I find something new to love each time I listen to it. It makes me want to grab a cold beer, kick back, put my feet up and just take it all in! The lyrics and rhythms sooth me and at the same time completely relate to me. Mimi is a very talented and gifted singer. The album flows and makes me want to hear more!

This album really moves me. Mimi's voice is just incredible! It sounds as though she is singing to YOU right in your living room. The soung writing, you can tell, comes straight from her heart. I would recommend this CD to anyone who has even a little taste in good music, you won't regret it. I know I didn't!

Mimi Burns is one of the most talented artists I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. Her strong voice and catchy songs, are like a breath of fresh air. When I first listened to this album, it took me a week to get past the first song, because I kept hitting repeat every time it ended. I found out later, to my surprise, that I liked the rest of the album as much as the first song, and I haven't stopped playing it since. It now has a permanent home in my car c.d. player, and I recomend it to anyone who likes good music.
