\"Homage\" is the final single released by Burnt Fur in support of their debut album UNFURL (released February 2008). Full of searing guitars and hooks reminiscent of Interpol and The Smiths, the band include drum machines and brooding lyrics to create a catchy and personal account of rejection and perseverance. Combined with their previous singles “Radiate” (November 2007) and “Vitriol” (May 2007), the three singles showcase the band’s ability to both rock and dance with the best New Wave acts.
B-sides feature a live-in-studio version of album track “Warm All Day (May Day)” and the band’s Halloween favorite “Cats.” The title track “Homage” was incidentally recorded on Halloween 2007. The b-sides show off the brighter side of Burnt Fur’s canon, as well as their ability to transfer their new wave sound to a live setting.
“Homage” is a limited release of 100 copies.
