Album Notes

Mike Whitney and Dorothy LeBlanc have been playing music together in some form since they met at a bluegrass jam in Baton Rouge, LA, in 2004. They've played in a 5-person band, a trio, and now this duo that they call The Buskers.

A "busker" is literally a street musician. Baton Rouge's own "The Buskers" are truly reminiscent of the New Orleans street musicians who entranced duo member Dorothy LeBlanc as a child. Her musical partner Mike Whitney is just as comfortable
playing dobro and bottleneck as he is 12-string and harmonica; Dorothy's mandolin and guitar add just the right compliment to bring the sounds they love to life!

"Pickin Friends" is the culmination of their 6 year collaberation, as they swap leads and vocals without missing a beat. Recorded live at Boonelight Productions in Baton Rouge, LA, October 2010.
