Not a Home Run, but a stand-up triple.

I have been a 30+ year fan of David Buskin, and have every LP and CD that he has issued, solo and with Robin, Pierce Arrow and Modern Man. I consider him to be one of the most brilliant and talented musicians of our time. Some of his best work was done with Robin, decades ago. Their live shows were wonderful. This latest CD is not up to the standard that they set back then. I did not like the remake of "Warm", a truly great song that lost its soul in this bouncy, elevator rendition. It is a very good CD, but there are no standouts when compared to their previous body of work. On second thought, "Just a Girl" and "Red Shoes" are keepers. I was thrilled to see a new release, but I expected better. Despite that, it is still superior to most of the music being issued today. I am happy to see them back together, and hope that a concert tour is in the making.

And the revisit of Warm is truly lovely. Please, sirs, may we have some more?
