ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Butte is a two-piece band living in Madison, WI.

John Schuppel (guitar, vocals, bass) and Mike Grunder (drums, guitar, bass) met when John joined The Sugar Jets, a noise-pop band in which Mike was the drummer. Shortly after meeting, John and his wife bought a house across the street from Mike, which led to lots of hanging out and playing music in John's basement.

For reasons unknown, they to refer to their two-piece mucking about as "Butte."

Perfectly content with Butte staying in the basement, Mike and John were active in The Sugar Jets, and later in The Lee Rays.

Years went by, and the "real" bands disbanded, but Mike and John had amassed quite a catalog of songs as "Butte" and set out to record them. With the sonic guidance of their audio engineer friend Lance Owens, Mike and John worked hard at getting these 14 songs recorded and are pretty happy with the result. They hope you like it, too.
