These are the original recordings of my dad Buzz Martin the Singing Logger. Buzz Martin was genuine logger who left the woods in the mid sixties to record and peform the songs he'd wrote about the life of the logger. His Music Became very Popular on the country stations and he was on the Johnny Cash Show. Also in 1976 The Smithsonian Institute Took him back to Washington D.C. For the Bicential Folkmusic Celebration to represent the Northwest. Dad drowned in Alaska in 1983 and his music has not been available for a long time . I'm Buzz Martin's oldest son and i've just aquired the publishing rights to his music and am starting to make it available again. Steve Martin

Where There Walks A Logger/A Loggers Reward

My grandpa was a logger way back before I was born. He had some Buzz Martin LP records that he used to play to my brother and me when we were kids. Later on, my brother and I spent a good many years working in the woods ourselves. I'm 40 now, my grandpa is gone, and I have no idea what ever happened to those old records. I thought that music was gone forever, when I stumbled upon this Buzz Martin CD. I bought one for my brother last month as a belated Christmas gift, and he absolutely loves it. Now I'll have to get another one for myself. Thanks, Steve, for bringing this music back. You've brought back a ton of good memories, that's for sure.

I bought this for a friend of mine who is a logger. This for him was one of the best presnents. Buzz was a real true logger who wonderfully sang how it really was being a logger. Listening to his songs brought back good and sad memories. Thank you for having this cd. Looked everywhere for it. If you ever release (I believe there is 4 or 5 more of his albums) I would buy them. Once again, thanks for having this cd so I could give him the best present ever!

My dad was a logger on Oregon's North Coast in th e 1960's. He loved Buzz Martin's music and could often be heard singing "Whistle Punk Pete" or "Sick of Settin' Chokers"...especially when it rained:) When I gave him this CD for Christmas he was thrilled! "I was just thinking about him the other day!" he exclaimed. Thanks for putting it out there for us.

Had me cracking up more than once. "I've got a pair of caulk boots and a tin hat to sell, that old hooktender can go straight to town..." It doesn't get much better than this. Been looking for more like vintage Johnny Cash, Red Simpson, etc and looks like I just found it. A real time capsule from a better time. Do release the other albums on CD will ya?
