The members of New York based band Buzz Prophets have extensive backgrounds as performers ranging from performing in Boomslang & Braider (Clark) to the seminal punk band Reagan Youth (Bonet). The diverse experience and musicianship of the members, together with an ear to writing strong songs, leads to a unique sound.
The new Buzz Prophet LP, "Kentucky", highlights the many facets of the band, from the dark tones of the title track, to the rock of "Better Believe It" and the jazz tinged "Wasting Time."
Some of the accomplishments of Buzz Prophets include holding down two spots in the Top 10 at WVCW in Virginia for over four months and airplay throughout the New York area on various college stations, including WSVA, WFIT, WRPW and WARY.
"Redwood" and "Acoustic Renderings", a pair of cassette samplers, were released in 1997 to introduce two of the newer members of the group to the public.

Buzz Prophets' Kentucky is a throwback to
great heavy blues-based rock from the late 1960s and early 1970s -- the
same primordial rock stew which spawned Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin,
and Deep Purple -- with a contemporary 1990s urgency -- where Pearl
Jam meets Cream -- a volatile fusion of grunge and metal -- the future of
rock-n-roll! Containing trace elements of southern rock, e.g. Molly
Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd, especially prominent during the more
soulful passages, Buzz Prophets combine wailing throaty lead vocals
with virulent lead guitar excursions supported by a solid thundering
rhythm section. Simply brilliant!
