Bviolin's Spiritual folk lyrics and persian violin world Fusion Sounds come alive once again in a brand new album to be Released May 30, 2009.
Following up from 2008 "How this Weighs On me".."Stretch Reach" is Bahman Sarram's (Bviolin) finest work of his songwriting/composing career yet.
Much like seeing him and his band (The Avalanche Project) live, Bahman delivers another diverse soundscape in "Stretch Reach", but with new intensity on middle eastern funky groovy compositional movements. His continued folk/spiritual lyrics take you on a journey that is his most autobiographical yet.
"I was 4 years old, and my family was being exiled from our country, our home. We were fleeing a land ripped apart by turmoil, and political and social revolution."
For Bahman Sarram, AKA Bviolin, the uneasy years of his childhood in Iran were marked by chapters of triumph and tribulation. Those memories continue to have a profound effect on him to this day.
"I remember the music of my home land, dancing while my mom sang at parties. I remember always being moved by sound and wanting to be part of it in some way," Bahman says. "I know those days will always be a part of me, every time I play. It's inescapable".

Bahman is a 1-man Putumayo

Here Bahman captures the spirit of his live performances in crisp studio tracks. He's a 1-man Putumayo on this disc -- why buy 10 albums from that other company when you can get a whole world sampler right here. Skipping from contemporary rock to jam and hip-hop, followed by the celtic infusion on "Farah", straight into more traditional eastern/Persian music on "Vigen", just when you think you know where Bahman is going on a song, he changes everything up. Still I love the sunny college-rock of the last two songs, particularly on "Hale Mary Paul" where he shakes a little twist of Eastern flavor into the California mix.

Are you kidding me?

I expected to find a couple, maybe a few good songs on the entire album. I was wrong, the whole album tells a fun, witty, quirky story. Unique sound, awesome feel, just great music.
It's disappointing when the last song ends... I want more!
