Album Notes

Let me introduce you to Blue Voodoo. This boogie'n blues band hails from Kirksville, MO, covering a wide variety of blues influences, and their current CD is titled RED HOT BLUES. Recent winners of the Tri-States Blues Challenge, Blue Voodoo will be competing in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, in February, 2005.

Jerry Fuller handles the guitar work as well as vocals. Jerry is an accomplished musician. His mastery of the guitar is evident on RED HOT BLUES, but he also plays piano, harp, a little banjo, bass, and is contemplating taking up sax. With a background in blues, classic rock, country, and gospel, and influences from Eric Clapton to Chet Atkins to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jerry brings a rich variety of influences to the stage.

The rhythm section is held down by David Daniels on drums and JP Hurd on bass. David and JP fall into a great groove and keep the bottom nailed down. JP also shares in the vocal work. With a wide variety of infleunces including the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, the Almann Brothers Band, and Johnny Winter just to mention a few, David & JP are the backbone of Blue Voodoo.

BJ Allen handles lead vocals and front work for Blue Voodoo. Having grown up in a strictly country music household, the world opened wide when she first heard the blues and classic rock in the 70's. BJ's current faves include Bekka Bramlett (daughter of Bonnie & Delaney Bramlett) and Shaun Murphy of Little Feat.

After years of playing throughout the NE Missouri area, this group of veteran performers have decided to focus on the music they love best.....that's the blues. Recorded at Circle M Recording Studio in Kirksville, RED HOT BLUES is an accurate representation of the band's live set. By not overdubbing embellishment tracks, when you hear RED HOT BLUES you know what this band will sound like at your club or festival.

Clips from RED HOT BLUES are available in the audio section. Blue Voodoo is currently working on their second CD, slated for release in spring, 2005.

REVIEWS

True blues from a class act
author: Dave Lerch
I purchased this CD after buying their new release, The Storm. Once again I was very impressed with the mix and sound quality from a small studio. This offering contains some excellent covers and the song selections showcase every member of the band. Strong vocals, excellent guitar work, and a very fresh sound kept this in my CD player for days. I'd highly recommend this to anyone into the blues.

I first heard these guys on Electric Blues Radio, Live365 and decided to take a chance on the CD. I'm really glad I did. If you're in to electric blues, you can't go wrong with this one.
