Album Notes

My name is Byron Lenair. I grew up Ft. Wayne, Indiana in congregations filled with storytellers, dreamers and musicians in my father’s storefront churches. Everyone would put their whole heart & soul into each story and song because those were our gifts of love to each other. I’m putting my whole heart and soul into the story and songs of “Mas Mojada” (More Wet), because it’s my gift of love to you. Mas Mojada is a story about believing we can still all find the happily ever after love of our life we always dreamed about. Why “Mas Mojada”? Because even though we put up with them, none of us wants a tired and dry love life!

We all know the story of the preacher’s kid growing up playing gospel, struggling with a desire to play other types of music, before finding true inner peace so I won’t repeat it here. The first time I fell in love, it was with a guitar in my father’s church and because of that, my guitars and I have grown up in front of audiences. I’ve traveled most of the Midwest playing music. I’ve also produced or co-produced various local artists including the classic “What Kind of Child” by Poppy. Because I didn’t achieve the kind of success I envisioned, I went through my artistic drama and I allowed music to become less and less of a priority in my life. When I finally fell in love with my life again I was happy to discover that I still had all of my stories, dreams, music and guitars just waiting to be shared. Mas Mojada is just the first of many stories to be told. Thank you for sharing my journey.
I hope you have a great day and better tomorrows!

Byron Lenair,

Mas Mojada and Chill are my two favorites, but all of your music is beautiful Byron. You are very talented, you present everything with class, thank you for your creations. BTW, some of your work with the guitar reminds me of some of the early work of Wes Montgomery.
