Album Notes

The Cain's Alibi story began when band co-founders Paul Miller and Neal Anthony met at a mundane sales job. Neal had never been in a band, but was a very accomplished musician. Paul had been playing in bands for several years, but had recently retired from the music business to pursue the mundane sales job. Paul was stricken by Neal's enthusiasm and love of music, and the two became fast friends, eventually throwing their lot in together when they quit the sales job and built a recording studio in Paul's basement.

After some limited success writing jingles and producing minor projects, they decided to write, record, and produce a rock CD. Thus the first Cain's Alibi CD came to be. However, there was no band to promote the project. Paul and Neal recruited long time friend Mark Christenson to fill the bass guitar spot. After a long search, the trio found Phil Galloway to play the drums.

Cain's Alibi released Paul and Neal's CD in January of 1998. Touring locally in their home state of Minnesota, the band achieved moderate success with a strong, energetic, and fun stage show featuring songs from the CD, as well as a variety of current and classic cover tunes.
