ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Last fall the "Cairns" recorded 12 tracks in Brooklyn, New York with legendary producer, composer, and musician David Mansfield (www.david-mansfield.com). David has worked with artists including Bob Dylan, T-Bone Burnett, and Sting. The 2nd Cairn to Cairn album,"Hands behind My Back" contains new melodic originals and lush interpretations of traditional tunes. Kelly McDermott and Terry Farmer exchange lead vocals with warm harmonies as well as virtuosic flute and guitar. Rob Crozier brings his vocals and adds rhythm on the bass, cajón, djembe, bells, and more. This band can rock out a bit, play northern sounds from Canada, adapt music of Native Americans, travel to the further reaches of Scotland, dig deep into the blues, or jam in a fashion not unlike jazz musicians. Never satisfied with the status quo, these talented musicians continue to look for the next cairn.
