Album Notes

Calecho is the result of a flow of random events. It came out from the unexpected collaboration between two musicians who were commissioned to write a track together. After a couple of sessions both knew they were into something. What started as a one-time collaboration gradually evolved into a full-blown album.

Their musical backgrounds blended effortlessly. By sharing their points of view about life, Calecho became for them an avenue to explore the art of storytelling, giving birth to exotic tales full of magic colored with sultry vocals.

Its sonic palette is conformed by a mixture of Spanish guitars, gypsy colored vocals, delicate electronic elements, percussions and nature atmospheres.

Calecho is a traditional form of gathering where people from towns in northern Spain used to meet at the end of the day to talk and tell stories or legends. It was a time to chill after a day of work, while words, sounds and perhaps some wine, would transport the listener into a magical space.

The creation of these magical spaces of story-telling is what lead them to create this musical project. Music for them is a state of mind of imaginary truthful stories.
