Calling Tokyo was formed in early January 2008. With a collective musical background based in Hard Rock and Metal, Calling Tokyo creates catchy, high-energy songs that
emphasize technical ability.
Based in Northwest Arkansas, Calling Tokyo has proven their ability to entertain. Within the first 3 months of exposure, Calling Tokyo played 6 shows, all of which were record draws for an unknown act. They have been featured on local radio shows, New Rock 104.9’s the A.M.X, New Rock 104.9’s The Roach Motel, 92.1 The KEGG’s “6-pack at 6”, and Rochester, NY College Radio.
In November of 2008, Calling Tokyo recorded their 9-track debut album, with critically acclaimed producer, Mike Bailey, of DreamMaker Productions. The album was labeled
as “Breaking The Silence” in context to the band’s ongoing attempt to be different from current market trends.
In December 2008, Calling Tokyo released their debut album, “Breaking The Silence”. Within the first 3 weeks, the album sold over 300 copies. Under the management of NWA based Live and Loud Entertainment, Calling Tokyo is currently booking shows regionally in support of “Breaking the Silence”
