All ways Spiritual
author: hafeesa
I was an admirer of Calvin and Ray and the P funk, love the Cd , and for the record he and they were always spiritual, and giving. They were representing Christ, even as the P-funk, so i welcome this direction it just the same Calvin remains a soilder in the army of God .

Very good work by Calvin.
author: Huey Newton
Very good work by Calvin. It's obvious Calvin has met the Lord. The passion and intelligence behind this work is as good as anything he's ever done with George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic. I'm a huge P-Funk fan and I'm a born again Christian as well. P-Funk always had a spiritual quality to the vibe and music but, with Calvin it now has a specific direction. Object: Glorify God and enjoy doing it. Bootsy is sounding pretty Christ centered lately. (Check out the CDs Everyday People by Nicole Mullen and Righteous Funk by Disciples Of Christ). Junie Morrison and "Mudbone" Cooper have been saved for years as far as I know. I hope the rest of the Funk Mob gets saved too. The late, great, "Sting" Ray Davis (Tear the Roof off the Sucker, Atomic Dog, Zapp, General Kane, etc.)appears on this album as well. I had the pleasure of meeting both Ray and Calvin at BB King's Blues Club in NYC. These brothers put on a great show and were really nice to talk to. Back to the album: Buy it! Good old funky music that lifts up the Lord gets an A++ in my book. I can't wait to hear what he does next. Ever funkin' on! VDB

Who says gospel ain't funky?
author: Phil Green
Even if you are not religious, (and I am not) put your prejudices to one side and give this a whirl because there are some downright funky tunes on here. If religion means partying & funking like this I might just get converted. There are six uptempo stompers on here that are as funky as anything George Clinton could have written
