CAMERON BLAKE RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED
SOPHOMORE ALBUM, EN ROUTE

Baltimore, MD – June 24, 2008 - Highly prolific Baltimore songwriter, Cameron Blake, emerges from the studio with his second full length album to be released on July 23, 2009.

Confident, cohesive, and mature, En Route displays a songwriter willing to take risks by stretching genre lines and delivering lyrics that could be found in a future addition of the Norton Anthology of Verse (Ex. “...your painted lips turned ivory, your fingernails like diamonds as they claw to be fed” from The Love Song Never Died). En Route is a grown-up album and it packs a punch with its ornate, chamber folk/rock style. The album’s single, On My Way to Jordan, has already created a buzz receiving 1st place in Folk on ourstage.com for June 2009.

Those that have heard this talented bandleader have called his music “evocative” (B- Newspaper) and “innovative and excellent” (Grassrootsy.com) and his 2008 debut effort, Over and Over, has also received positive reviews. Megan Johnson of bmoretunes.com wrote, “Where the Blossoms Fall is a beautiful addition to my list of great folk music” and British music magazine The-Mag wrote, “Cameron Blake’s single You Bought Me Twice is a flamboyantly performed John Barrowman-esque confession of naughtiness. It’s full of drama and passion...”

Cameron Blake’s live performance is a breath of fresh air and has even earned him 1st place among 36 competitors in Philadelphia’s renowned World Café Live “Philly Rising” Open Stage. En Route captures that same live energy, recorded with 13 other Baltimore musicians, including several Peabody Institute graduates and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra musicians. The album is “delightfully crafted and layered without sounding contrived” (Mat Leffler-Schulman of Mobtown Studios).
