Paper Skyscrapers is the debut full-length LP from Charlotte, North Carolina troubador Cam Heiliger. With influences ranging from 90's favorites like the Counting Crows, Gin Blossoms, REM, Better than Ezra, and Toad the Wet Sprocket to more modern acts like Wilco, Coldplay, Pete Yorn, Ryan Adams and Death Cab for Cutie, Heiliger weaves a narrative that is both fresh and familiar. While his emphasis on melody draws the listener in, his lyrical complexity demands careful repeated listening and engages the listener in his stories of love, loss, and redemption.
While raised in Charlotte, Heiliger cut his musical teeth in the southern musical capital, Athens, Georgia. Home of classic college rock bands like REM and the B-52s, Athens still sports one of the most vibrant music scenes in the country. Playing a variety of venues around town including Nuci's Space and Tasty World, Heiliger developed a confident stage presence and recognition while giving back to the community through several charity concerts that raised money for the Red Cross for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Now back in his home town of Charlotte, he is ready to once again showcase his passion and skill as a singer-songwriter.
