Meet Camila Aguilar
A woman longing to reveal the depths of God’s heart
Through new sounds of worship

Camila, through her own fusion of pop/rock, funk, jazz, and latin styles, combined with vivid imagery and expressive vocals, creates her first original solo album, “Compelled.”

Raised in Oklahoma and brought up in a home that was filled with music, Camila showed signs of an exceptional musical gift very early in her childhood. Accompanied by her mother, she started performing and singing at the age of five in various talent competitions, musicals, and in the church. These experiences culminated in holding lead roles in several professional musicals and theatre shows.
Camila attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, the top contemporary music college in the world, from where she graduated in 2004. A melting pot of musical styles, Berklee enabled Camila to develop her craft and begin the discovery of her artistry. She met her husband, producer and guitarist Daniel Aguilar, at Berklee Christian Fellowship while attending school. Together they trained and led worship teams at several different churches and massive student gatherings in the Boston area. It’s during this season that Camila began to write song after song, as the desire to record was being birthed in her heart.
Expressed from her heart and a labor of love, Camila’s first solo album, “Compelled,” has become a reality. Ranging in color, the music offers a beautiful tapestry of lyric, content, melody, groove, and most importantly, passion. Listeners can expect a sincere worship experience, coupled with genius production and first-rate musicianship. An array of the industry’s finest musicians came together to bless this project, including: Abraham Laboriel Sr., Paul Jackson Jr., Vinnie Colaiuta, Alex Acuña, George Deoring, Carlos Murguía, and Carlin Muccular. Camila was also privileged to work with several time Grammy winner, Benny Faccone.
Camila brings forth a fresh new sound with songs like, “Spirit Man,” which has a funk flavor with a layed back groove. The music has an exciting and unique feel, yet never loses its purpose in bringing the listener into a deep place of worship. She, through impeccable songwriting and skill, takes one through an inner journey of recollecting the depths of God’s love from the story of creation to the resurrection in the sweet ballad, “Like You Do.” An atmosphere of wonder and adoration in “Wonderful God,” is created through lyrical painting, melody, and soaring vocals. Legendary bass player, Abraham Laboriel Sr. sets the mood with a flawless performance on his fretless bass. The incredible musical arrangements of the latin salsa, “Running to Your Throne,” contain a contagious rhythm and groove which is fun and energetic. The one and only Vinnie Colaiuta intensifies the drive with an unbelievable drum solo. The song lifts the spirit and soul in high praise to our Awesome God!
Camila’s heart for her album is that it will bring all who hear it closer to the Lord. Her desire is that deep and explosive passion for worship will be ignited in your heart and that you will get lost in the love of God. She prays that hearts will be healed and mended as the awesome presence of Christ is released! She desires to bring new sounds to the church and to bring the love of Christ into the mainstream as well. Camila’s greatest longing is that you would be totally set on fire for God, as she has been, and that you will join her in passionately pursuing Him!
