Album Notes

CAMILLE BETTON, the worshipper, psalmist, songwriter and recording artist is anointed to effectively minister to people through music and usher them into the presence of God.

Camille attributes her early musical framing to her father, Ronald Betton who also sings and explained the fundamentals of three-part harmony, secondly, her late uncle, Lawrence F. Trudo, who manifested such a passion for the excellence of music ministry that it was contagious and thirdly to her oldest sister, Alisa C. Watson, who founded the group, The Melodies of Praise, of which Camille was apart. It was her own interest, however, that pushed her to voraciously absorb music and
‘find all three parts’. In her own words, 'the experience of listening to such groups as The Winans, The Commissioned, The Clark Sisters and Witness was so thrilling! To hear what they could do with their voices, the tight harmonies they created and the great production, it was so moving.'

The music wasn't the only thing to get her attention. 'I was inspired by Fred Hammond to write songs. I mean, to hear a great song and then at the end of the lyrics see the copyright symbol with his name, was like WOW! He wrote that! That came from God to him! I couldn't wait for the day that I could see that symbol next to my name." Writing and singing semi- professionally by the age of 14, she went on to release the self-written single entitled ‘Change Will Come’ in 1996 under her own publishing company, SONG IN A STRANGE LAND MUSIC(ASCAP) and has had her dream fulfilled of seeing the copyright symbol next to her name many times. In 2004, she was a featured songwriter and artist on New Salem Missionary Baptist Church’s (Columbus, OH) sophomore recording ‘Sweet Aroma’ penning the song ‘All My Days’.

She has since toured abroad in Europe, and performed extensively in the United States at conferences, recordings and worship experiences. She has shared ministry with Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing, Twinkie Clark, Marvin Sapp, Lucretia Campbell, Charles Woolfork and other noted central Ohio artists such as Thommy Adams, Quan Howell, Nia Allen, Tonya Baker, Jonathan Dunn and Faith Ministries.

As a member of First Church of God, Camille receives a healthy and steady diet of the word from the mouth of Bishop Timothy J. Clarke. For three years, she served as the House Psalmist at First Church, but recently, and with Bishop Clarke’s blessing, stepped away to more vigorously pursue her ministry and artist career.

Camille believes that worship is a lifestyle and is carrying out her call to lead others to the Lord and deeper relationship with Him through worship. She is currently promoting her debut ‘soul worship’ project entitled ‘The Arrival: First Destination’. This album is awesome. She is a great singer and her tone is very refined. I mean she is RIDICULOUS! The cd is a great praise and worship cd and it is also artistic musically. There are a couple of songs that a praise team or group could sing. I'm telling you you will be blessed when you listen.
