These guys manage to kick out songs that are never boring

"Judas" opens the album on a hard note, with lines like "Lately I've been so fucked up on you / and it's time to leave this Judas kiss with you." The fact that frontman Frank Thaheld sounds like an angrier version of Creed's Scott Stapp only exacerbates the tension. Five-piece, hard-rock outfit Campaign for Quiet does just about everything but what their moniker advocates.
The production quality in each track is flawless, and there is an equal dose of driving rockers and dreary ballads. The band rages through the first half of the disc, incorporating punk, indie, and grunge into songs "The American Way," "Shotgun Song," and "All Night Long." In "The American Way" Thaheld sings, "Keep your impulse guard down / and we can do cocaine the American way until we breathe out stardust." These guys manage to kick out songs that are never boring, even in moments of passive reflection.
"Virginia" and "Verge of Motion" both go through rapid tempo changes as the addition of acoustic guitars usher in sullen accounts of lost love. This temerity continues into the first few chords of "Wear You Out," but the song abruptly breaks into a raging rocker. This dizzying jam ends up being the highlight of the album, proving that predictable music can sometimes be unpredictable.

This band is what I've been waiting for

This CD starts out as a hardcore, dancing in your seat (if you're in a car) music with Judas, and continues on until you hit Virginia, a slower accoustic beautiful song. My personal favorites are The American Way and Wear You Out. This CD is definately something to play for your friends if they haven't heard it yet and they seem like the kind of band you'd want to see ASAP! Wonderful CD! I'm going to play it forever!!!
