Album Notes

This CD is Pierce's first Irish album and fourth solo recording. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by him in his Twelfth Octave Studio.

Pierce sings and plays acoustic guitar, mandolin and bass with a few banjo tracks by Paul Neri and one guest bass track on John Barleycorn by Tony Pasqualoni.

The recording has many traditional Irish pub songs like ' The Moonshiner' and 'The Irish Rover' while his original drinking songs,( One Pint Of Porter, The Ration Of Rum, Too Much Good Whiskey, A Pint Or So, The Sailor's Chant) are written in the Irish folk tradition and fit right in with their authentic feel.

There are many lead lines and solos played by mandolin and guitar together giving the CD a signature sound.

People who have bought the album consistently have commented on the sound quality, selection of songs and production which makes this CD a good choice for anyone looking for an introduction to Irish pub music or to add to an existing collection.

Here we have many long-time favorites all on one disc.  Performance is lively, clear and well-styled.  No need for a lyric-sheet.  Unusual performance of John Barleycorn, seems a bit out of place with the rest.  I'll give it a chance to grow on me though.  I definitely want to hear more.
