The Canadian Celtic Choir was founded in London, Ontario, Canada in 1996 to sing, to celebrate and to promote Celtic choral music and culture. From the beginning, founders Dan and Margo Surman and the now 40-plus voices of the choir have sought out the meaningful, moving and spirit raising songs of Scotland, Ireland, Wales and the Canadian Maritimes and interspersed their growing repertoire with carefully chosen selections from Europe and North America.
The Choir is a frequent featured performer at Celtic festivals in Ontario, and plans are underway to extend the choir's schedule of appearances to include other parts of Canada, and some select international venues.
