Album Notes

Chris Canas was born on July 18,1984 in Detroit,MI but soon budded out into the streets of Ann Arbor. He was raised in a very musical family and got a taste of the blues at an early age. when Canas was 10 he heard B.B. King sing the blues and play Lucille and he immediately fell in love with B.B. King and the blues. he's now only 18 years old but he's singing the blues like an old blues man. Chris Canas is truly a prodigy. Most consider him to favor The Artist fromerly known as Prince, for the simple fact that he plays his own instruments himself, and arranges all original tracks. Chris Canas is truly an up and coming artist, seeming as it's been a long time since someone has produced a 15 track album with all original music, and played everything all by his/herself. Chris Canas is one to watch out for in the future, and is now on the verge of becoming the next best thing in the world of the blues.

this is the sweetest blues cd I've ever heard in a long time. My favorite songs are blue 24 because it is a party song and is easy to dance and have fun to.My second favorite song is unforgiven because it has an uptempo beat that you can get your groove on to. Overall I think Shades of Blue is an awesome album that sort of seems like it's telling a story.

I just heard a couple of clips from Shades of Blue and I have to say I am VERY impressed. I especially liked Unforgiven and I Think of You. The way they were arranged is very professional, seeming as he did all of his instruments by himself. I really enjoyed Shades of Blue cause it's all ORIGINAL MUSIC. I think that's what the blues has been missing for a very very long time and I look forward to buying Shades of Blue and any new albums Chris Canas has cause I know for a fact his music will only get better. AND HE'S ONLY 17. WOW!!

I was very impressed with this CD, especially after finding out his age, great things will come from this young man as he ages, He will surely make the ranks of BB King, Eric Clapton,Luther Allison, He can only get better, looking foward to anything this young man produces.

Great first CD, this young man was seventeen when he produced this CD he wrote all the songs and played all the instruments on the tracks and laid down the vocals, fantastick, he has a third CD due out in July 04, I am eagerly awaiting this CD.
