Album Notes

'Search for the Cure', Cancer Rising's debut album on MadPassion Entertainment, brings an unbridled energy and rawness to Hip Hop infusing rock, soul and funk brought to life by producers DEFKIDZ.

Judas and Gatsby, otherwise known as Cancer Rising are no newcomers to the music game. Both raised in extremely musical families, each embraced soul, funk and hip-hop at an early age. CR's influences run deep and spans genres with artists such as Marvin Gaye, Bobby Womack, Sound Garden and Vivaldi named as some of their influences. Their knowledge and love for music is made clear by their diverse, fresh sound, taking hip hop one step further.

This is a great combination of clever lyrics and excellent musicianship. You can't lose with this duo from Seattle if you like quality hip hop. And let's not forget CD Baby, the greatest service on the West Coast!

Search for the Cure is pure enjoyment right to the end. After a while I started finding myself listening to the CD over and over without being able to take it out of my car CD player. This album is full of bangin beats and some of the most original style in a long time. Guaranteed Satisfaction. Cancer Rising, good for hip-hop, better for you.
