Hailing from Lismore on the north coast of N.S.W, Candice Casagrande grew up writing poetry with sand between her toes and an acoustic guitar. This brilliant coastal artist writes intelligent acoustic / pop songs that will knock on the door of your heart, promise hope and challenge any stale mind-sets. Her artistically constructed lyrics are a trademark, allowing her songs to grip people with more than just a catchy tune.

Candice outspokenly embraces a heart for broken young women and has actively come alongside teenage girls in the local area dealing with issues of self harm, suicide and eating disorders. Since the release of Candice’s debut EP “Fearless Heart” (November 2006) - supporting Mercy Ministries with $2 from every CD sold - her passion for social justice has increased and now this small town surfer girl has fresh vision to alert the nations about the horrifying reality of human trafficking through her music.

Having performed at festivals such as Easterfest (The largest drug and alcohol free music festival in Australia), Blackstump Sydney and Youth Alive’s Big Exoday in Sydney – to name a few – Candice Casagrande is fast becoming a household name on the north coast of NSW and the Australian Christian music scene. Solo or with a band; intuitively engaging and passionate live performances set Candice apart. Acclaimed music website mp3.com.au (who also work alongside triple J unearthed) caught onto her sound waves, reaching #1 (February 08) in the indie/folk charts, and #7 overall!

Following the release of Candice’s first single “Make it a good 1” in October, popular north coast radio station 100.9 ZZZ fm have welcomed the fresh sound to their rotation. Candice has recently been recognised in the nationally admired Music Oz awards, gaining a top 5 finalist position for best Christian / Spiritual artis. The self titled album ‘New Day’ is growing in anticipation and will be due out Easter 2009.
