Album Notes

WHO IS CANDLE-ENDS?

In a dark basement in West Michigan, Candle-Ends sits on a metal fold-out chair, singing songs of fatalist resignation into his dusty four-track cassette recorder.

On To the Sea, his 2004 debut album, Candle-Ends plays all instruments, including electric and acoustic guitar, a cheap old keyboard, a rented cello and a metal can. Throughout the album are scattered voices from his past, resurrected from old tapes, including a young, storytelling Candle-Ends on the three \"To the Sea\" framing tracks.

[It\'s now Sept. 2008 and I\'m burning more of these. Since I decided to make the packaging more simple this time (and since the album is so short) I decided to add three extra songs to the physical version of the album: \"Marrakech,\" \"Coda,\" and an alternate version of \"Eyes of Fire.\" If you already bought the album and want these songs, send me an e-mail.]
