In this CD,I certainly hear the influences behind Canepa's style and applaud her perspicacity in assimilating and making very much her own the example of others. I especially admire her musical poise, integrity and expressiveness. Her works echo the Italian--even Sicilian--sense of drama, love and tragedy; Puccini meets the godfather.  Each of her works establishes a mood of its own, like a fine watercolorist does. Her native Monterey, her Sicilian heritage and innate feel for color, phrase and atmosphere honor her forebears far beyond predictable expectations. Her CDs are keepers, and sharers.
