Album Notes

CANNATA "My Back Pages"
A limited edition 6 panel digipak with 16 page booklet

Following the release of “Mysterium Magnum”
in 2006, I began to explore the idea of recreating
some of the music from the past that had inspired
me to make music my passion in life. The songs,
the production, the sound, and most importantly,
the 60's and the 70's were witness to ground breaking
vision. Choosing 13 or so songs to record turned
out to be quite a challenge. I searched the planet, to
select a diverse collection of Psychedelic, Folk Rock, and
Progressive Music, that for me, defined the time.

I was committed to staying true to the Spirit of the songs,
and in many cases, searched for the instruments and sounds
used in the original recordings. In the decades since these
songs were first recorded, technology has advanced to the
point that there are few limitations. It was the idea of
capitilizing on these advances, that made this such an
exciting project.

The band : JEFF CANNATA, drums, bass, guitar, mellotron, electric sitar, vocals. ROBERT GIANNOTTI, acoustic & electric guitars / solos, sitar, flute. DAVID COE, 12 string Rickenbacker, acoustic guitar, and solos. JAY ROWE, electric piano lead on Fresh Garbage. JEFF BATTER, Hammond organ, " On The Turning Away" GEORGE MANUKAS, acoustic guitar on "Embryonic Journey" SOLIN, guest lead vocal on "Norwegian Wood"

My Back Pages

Regards from the island of Majorca. First excuse my terrible English, I only studied French in the school :( Only I can say thank you Mr. Cannata for a masterpiece like this one. " My Back Pages " contains some of the best songs of the progressive rock and Jeff Cannata's indisputable and personal stamp. Only for the versions of " Court of the Crimson King ", " On the Turning Away " and "Space Oddity" it is necessary to buy this CD. Recommended 100%

I have been a fan of Jeff Cannate for years and own al lhis releases. This is also excellent and worth buying. Every track is brilliant and i prefer his versions of "Fresh Garbage", "Court of the Crimson King" and "On the Turning Away" to the originals. And we all know the originals are all time classic songs. The man is a true genius and has not had the popularity he truly deserves. I hope it comes soon. This is a 10 out of 10. Perfection!!! I cannot wait for the follow up.

Excellent Cover Album!
author: Fernando Gallardo
This Is Volume One! So apparently Jeff Cannata is considering on doing another cover album. Great! This album is well produced and recorded. Randy California (RIP) should hear Cannata's version on his "Fresh Garbage"... This one is just that much better than Spirits original version. So keep it up Jeff!
