Album Notes

Cantonese Traffic is a power trio who's members consist of Michael Allard (Guitar and Vocals), Zac Arnault (Bass and Vocals), and Ian Martin (Drums). They play a fusion of genres that include blues, funk, rock, reggae, and psychedelic. The basis of their banding together is to make music great. Trying to reintroduce good music is a daunting task, but they're willing to try and overcome. All of the members in the band are serious musicians who have diverse styles and influences separately, but together, form a new style that has a different feel all together. Here's what some others have to say:

Cantonese Traffic are a musical elixir capable of creating various musical landscapes with melody and groove. Despite their age, they possess the wisdom and prowess of bands many times their age, and in a world notably absent of younger bands, these lads are a fresh-air breath in a smoggy sky.
-Marty England, Pondering Judd

Cantonese Traffic finds that middle ground between Frank Zappa, Prog Rock and Bela Fleck. Blazing technical solos are replaced with thoughtful, blues-inspired statements around solid melodic themes. A simple description would be polished gut-music. Real, honest, Cantonese Traffic. Dig it.
-Thom Keith, Avant Coast Music, Active Jazz Musician

REVIEWS

This is just plain fun
author: Derek Miles
Like it says in the title, this album is just plain fun. It's got that Allman Brothers/Frank Zappa jam feel, but the tunes are all uniquely their own and very solid. These guys have the chops to impress those who are into technique, but that can also rock out with the best of them. If you like 'classic rock' but you're tired of the same 13 songs on the radio, give this a listen -- you won't be disappointed!
