Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries started in 1972 at Monroe High School in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. We are a high energy, 1950’s/1960’s ROCK n ROLL show playing the great party songs of that era. More than just music, our show consists of choreography, red and blue lamé jackets and on-stage antics that entertains at the visual as well as the audible levels.
After 26 years, we finally got it together to record something!!! We are, in the final analysis, a live show band and have enjoyed many years as a club act. Our greatest delight is to “have ‘em dancin’ in the aisles and on top of the tables” at the end of the show (much to the chagrin of the local fire officials). Instinctually, we MUST ENTERTAIN and hope that this spirit comes through. The songs included in this CD form a core portion of our show, all of which have caused parties to breakout spontaneously and/or general mayhem to prevail.
This CD, It’s About Time, is dedicated do over 3 decades of friends that we have gained along the way. Thanks to all of you , we hope you all have jobs now! We are indebted to you for your enthusiasm, support and deeply disturbed senses of humor (for enduring our frivolity and hijinx as we transformed ourselves from being questionable adults into full-on adolescents, simply by adding a bit of styling gel and donning really cool red lamé jackets.)
We also dedicate this CD to those of you have not see us live. We hope that you will someday come to see us, laugh at our sophomoric jokes, dance your brains out and generally make fools out of yourselves in front of your peers . . . not only will you have joined the ranks, but heck, that’s what WE do… and we get paid !!! ????
May your parties be hearty, may music lift your souls and may our paths cross in Rock & roll Heaven, if not sooner ! ! ! ! CC&C
