Careful construction of atmosphere, detail-rought melodies, and the richest beats permeate this hybrid record of trip hop, jazz, pop, and Latin. There’s a meandering sexy lounge feel brought on by loops filled with hand percussion and effected or uneffected classical guitar lends itself for spooky, ethereal, artful dodging of the mainstream; if you’re into the geekery of music dissection there’s plenty to hear on this record that will have you wondering exactly which effect is effecting what, but as a casual listening record, this is fully of warmth and sprightly attitude. It would be the perfect soundtrack to a joyride through a city, or perhaps just parking your car on the cliff above it for the spectacular view.
