Not the next Beck, not the next Prince, not the next Zappa, Capital boldly goes where we're all waiting for someone to go...

Paving the way for melodic songwriting in electronic music, Capital draws on blues, funk, jazz, rock, and the traditions of Latin America, Asia and Africa to invent edgy, addictive rhythms and rhymes that shoot off into a new world entirely.

"Rain or Shine" is a duo collaboration with Japan's legendary turntable guru DJ Nozawa, showcasing the DJ's mind twisting beats topped by intense, virtuosic songs written and performed by Capital. Complex, soulful and positive, this work sharpens the cutting edge that Capital and DJ Nozawa have created in their many recordings with Shing02 and the Terracotta Troupe Interground.

Capital rocks
Capital is totally original. The groove is super smooth and funky. The sounds he comes up with are one-of-a-kind. His voice wraps you up like a warm blanket. DJ Nozawa adds some serious scratches and samples, too. buy this CD!

Kevin Seal - Keyboardist for Griddle

Most interesting recording i've heard all year, without a doubt.
I can honestly say that it sounds like absolutely nothing else I've ever heard. That kind of uniqueness and iconoclasm is a rare accomplishment. Imagine Prince's falsetto ballads, splattered with surrealistic and dissonant paint, and then remixed by Aphex Twin.

Adam Levy - Guitarist for Norah Jones and Tracy Chapman

On 'Rain or Shine', Capital synchronizes inventive guitar playing and intelligent lyrics to DJ Nozawa's burbling and thrumming electronic beats with reckless precision. The result is modern, fun, soulful, and sometimes frenetic. If there is any precedent for this freewheeling musical alchemy, it is Shuggie Otis's landmark 'Inspiration Information'. Like Otis, Capital mixes the fresh and the familiar in unexpected ways, following a beautifully mad logic. One listen will leave you scratching your head; two listens will have you bobbing your head; three listens, and you'll be hooked.

Dan Balmer - Guitarist and CMP Recording Artist

Remarkable and bursting with creativity and vision.
