Fred Caporale -(Munkier and flugelhorn) Melissa Curiale and John "Butch" Poveromo "The Homecoming" original debut CD. It features vocals and original lyrics by Melissa Curiale. Singing two of the eleven songs, Melissa added that young, fresh approach to his music that traditional jazz artists and jazz lovers will embrace. At the age of 16, this vocalist was already singing jazz standards and grabbed the attention of Fred. He asked her to perform with his jazz trio and recorded her voice for development. Years later, she still puts a smile on his face like a daughter to her father.John "Butch" Poveromo was a big part of this collaboration, co-producing and grooving each tune to its limits while keeping Fred's vision intact. John took the project to a new musical high. Guitarist Richie Cerniglia's interaction with Fred's horn playing made the songs fresh and alive. Andreas Noeth creating new fresh sample sounds . Improvisation from the soul and mind is what this artist is about. "The Homecoming" means coming home to what is in your heart.
Reviews are in - Excellent work recording, mixing and playing. It's impossible not to be impressed with the talent that's displayed in these song. Steely Dan has nothing on this . Wonderful horn/guitar duet!
artistically state-of-the-stately...undoubtedly world-class....cutting-edge innovatively....tremendous group of musicians....potentiality obviously unlimited....go where you wanna go....it is a rare privilege. thank you!!!
Nice and relaxing. Recording quality
sort of vintage at first, then worked into contemporary
Nice tone...very warm and friendly
Beautiful instrumentation and arangement conjure pictures of walking down an inner city street in new york while the children play in an opened fire hydrant and hot dog vendors sell their goods. a sunny warm feeling.
This is a very dated form of jazz... welcome back
Really smooth music , easy listening
Sounds like a hip Kenny G. on a flugelhorn. Nice mood music. Might work as part of a motion picture sound track.
Laid back, cool!
Well done....good instrument work. Nice and smooth sounding.

Fred Caporale: Le Trumpeter Extraordinaire
author: Kenny Love
If I could give this CD 10 stars, I wouldn't hesitate in doing so. Fred Caporale is one of the finest Contemporary Jazz artists, with one of the classiest recordings to come along in quite some time. Being a trumpet player myself, I readily appreciate the accomplished mastery of his silky smooth flow. If you like such luminaries as; Donald Byrd, Freddie Hubbard, or Rick Braun, I need say nothing more, except...get Fred!

Soft Lulling Atmospheric Calmness

FRED CAPORALE "Homecoming" By: Wednesday Elektra
FRED CAPORALE along with his fellow musicians have created an amazing Jazz album aptly called "Homecoming." The powerful essence of the Muted Trumpet & Flugelhorn brings about a movement of soft lulling atmospheric calmness. There's nothing better to put on than a great Jazz album, when you just want to relax in a peaceful and calm environment. The soft touches of percussion and guitar (along with other instruments) really sets off a nice ambiance. Its a very romantic and soothing album. Rating: 10/10
