ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Glasgow indie-folk-pop five piece Captain and the Kings is formed around the songs and voice of Steven Finnie. Joined by sister Jolene, wife Lindsay, human metronome Jamie and part-time bass player Jim, the band’s background in folk music gives their melodic harmony-driven pop an authentic heritage.

As a duo the siblings enjoyed extensive support from Tom Morton on Radio Scotland, and Jim Gellatly on XFM, toured the folk festival scene, and landed a demo deal with Polydor Records. Later as a full band they played Tartan Heart Festival in 2008.

Immediately upon releasing their new material in 2011, the band received support from Radio One, Amazing radio and made a Radio Scotland single of the month for their track 'It is the mercy'. Their live performances this year has included gigs at Celtic Connections, King Tuts & The Black Sparrow and the band recently played a sell out show as part of Glasgow's West End Festival.
